My book is selling but at a rate of 1 every 2-3 days. Not million dollar potential.
The million dollar equation fell flat on it's face. I grabbed the most popular CB product and copied their landing page to my domain and linked to the cart at the end. I then sent 600 people to the page...Not one person bought the product.
I did this with 2 other CB products... No sales.
The reason my book is selling is because I'm warming people up with a free bribe then transferring them over to my sales page.
I'm going to market cheifs book emulating the thing I did with mine (warm them up with a free bribe, and then send them to the sales page) - his price point is very low though, I'll be only able to spend $.06 a click to keep it profitable and it takes 500 clicks to generate a sale using this method. I can't generate 500 clicks in a day with google at $.06 per click. At most I can get about 120 clicks.
The reason it works for my book is because I'm charging 154.99 so I can afford to spend 70 bucks a day to get the 500 required for a sale.
Cheif's book sells for $9.99. I get paid around 60% commission subtract the cost of marketing and I lose a dollar on each sale. He has an upsell though of I think 40 something dollars so that will make up the difference on the front end loss. That being said we have no idea how many people who buy the book buys the upsell consistently. That added to the fact that I'll only get 1 sell every 4-5 days makes this not seem worth my time.
Dead in the water...
I went on the warrior forum and started asking around and some of the super affiliates told me that the cold traffic to the sales page tactic won't work very well and will cost me a ton of money banging my head against the wall.
I should have just sought out their advice from the beginning. Sometimes I like to act on ideas a bit too quickly. My lesson here is to step back a bit before investing money and seek others who have walked the road before me. All of those books taught me great theory enough to generate sales for my book, but experience is always the best teacher.
Anyway, I'm not one to give up. I sat and brainstormed on the lessons I've learned this year spending every day trying to create financial freedom. I still have other options. My lead generation company, distributing my bandit signs for my whole sale business. I could work my flexible work from home jobs I got using the methods in my book, or spend all day trading binary options...Fuck that. I don't want to trade time for money.
I had the idea (since I'm about to sell lead generation stuff in RE there are probably companies selling lead generation stuff for online traffic). I thought maybe I could sell my google traffic generation skills somehow. Then I started researching the other traffic generation companies to get an idea about competition. Then it dawned on me I could just pay them to send traffic to my website...
These people have subscriptions for like 27 bucks a month to send targeted traffic (500 clicks a day) to your website. - Check it out:

With this I'm back in business. I can set this up to send people to my affiliate program for Chief, and I can set up one for my book which will double my sales. I've also got an offer from one of the super affiliates to work for me. With the three things combined that should get me 3 sales a day hopefully.
I'm really only still going to be an affiliate for chief because I gave him my word that I would help him, but I'm trashing all other affiliate programs and am focusing entirely on finding affiliates to sell my book for me.
To you though. If you want to sell a product online this is the next affiliate theory I'm about to test.
I asked the people on the warrior forum about buying traffic and they just told me to be careful and track the sources so that I'm not getting fraudulent clicks, but didn't discourage me from buying the traffic. I was given this link:

So the million dollar equation is still in effect, my efforts are going more towards the publisher side instead of the affiliate side however, but if you don't have a product to push simply:
Find a hot product that people are buying - I use clickbank but there are tons of affiliate programs out there.
Set up a squeeze page with a bribe that will entice someone to give you their email. They are more willing to buy after they have warmed up to you and taken some form of action. The squeeze page will then direct them to the sales page.
Go to a place like this:
http://buy-traffic.com/faq/ and buy enough traffic to get 500 clicks a day.
Track the clicks with this:

$27 a month for the traffic, $100 a year to purchase a domain and hosting rights (or free if you set up a Word press site). X figure for someone to build your website (or you can do what I did and google everything one step at a time to figure out how to build the website yourself)
Total cost: $27-Couple Hundred bucks.
A super affiliates gave me this advice for cutting the number of clicks down from 500 to 100 I will be implementing as I gather more email addresses:

You've got alot to learn my friend.
Anyways, sorry for the delayed response - was out in Pasadena and Los Angeles for the weekend with my wife - just got back
While the sales pages ARE designed to make sales (naturally), you'll make A-LOT more sales if you pre-sell them on the product.
This can be done a few ways:
Get them on your email list, provide value for a few days then recommend the product
Built a simple "click here to continue" landing page that warms them up to whatever you're promoting
Build up a following on facebook, twitter, pinterest etc - build a RELATIONSHIP with your list/following and then recommend it
Do a YOUTUBE REVIEW (or a review on your blog) of the product, tell people the pro's and con's of it, and why you recommend it (or DON'T recommend it, and recommend ANOTHER product in it's place)
Basically, people are 5 times MORE likely to buy if they trust who's selling it, OR if you warm them up first to the product before promoting it somehow.
Not sure on the '5 times' number, but I know it's up there somewhere and I DEFINITELY see that with my earnings vs sending people to a product sales page cold
Hope this helps
Jeff
Hopefully this works. I'm trying to think of anything unforeseeable which will get in the way. The only problem I guess would be if the traffic guy sends me a bunch of garbage un-targeted leads that don't convert. So I will have to research and find the trusted companies that have great reviews. The link I provided was just the first company I ran into I will do a more thorough investigation before I commit any money.
