So you say

That will almost never work. Alpha doesn't matter. "Alpha" is nearly a non-factor in attraction. Some of the traits matter, but none of those are even in play, here.
Maybe I'm misreading things, but I don't see it that way AT ALL.

I'm pretty sure she likes the attention, but that's about it.

I could well be wrong, but I get the feeling that he's tried to escalate but it hasn't gone anywhere.

In that case, then it probably would be a good idea to just tell her that he WAS interested but is no longer and is moving on, then cut contact.
