In about a week I'm holding a house party.

And my question is:
What would be a few most important things to remember and how to generally behave as a host?

It depends on the situation and the age group to be honest.

I threw one real house party back in high school and never again. It's a challenge to enjoy yourself when you have to keep and eye on everything.

Whats the age? How many people are coming? Is it your house or your parents etc.

I'm 19, something like US College. I have a house and I think that about 50 people are going to show up. My parents won't be home. I have many friends who are going to help me care about everything. I've hosted a few parties like that, it's not a big deal to me to maintain order, but when I did them I wasn't a PUA and now I am.

I hosted one the weekend just gone man. It can be stressful because you want to make sure others are having a good time and also look after your place. My 18th was average because i spent my night worrying about others most of the night. Although you want to keep and eye on things, you need to have fun man, so let your hair down and enjoy it.

If there are girls coming you're keen on remember for the night you're the man it's your party and your social proof will be through the roof so you should find it quite easy to close. During the party I took one of the girls to the rear balcony and after talking for a bit started hooking up, in the end she was the last to leave the party! ;)

Hope it's a good one!

Further to that man I had some areas where people needed to walk over carpet to access bathrooms etc so i put some towels and sheets down to protect the carpet, you'll also want to put newspaper under so if anything spills you don't get grilled by your parents. If people think you're being stupid just tell them they won't be complaining when you get to hold more parties because you looked after the place ;)
