Hi, Im an AFC living in Tokyo. Kind of facing unique circumstances as an Asian American so women assume I can speak Japanese even though my language skills are poor. Former nerd so hope to improve and gain more social skills by participating in this community.

I can relate. I've been living in Korea for the past few years and since I'm Korean-American people assume I'm fluent in the language when in actuality I really suck at it.
