I was wondering how people respond when they are called out as a PUA or if somebody notices a neg because they watched VH1. I'm not stupid enough to use a line on that show, or even one in the proximity of the lines on that show. But how do you guys react if a girl says "hey did you watch the pick up artist on VH1 or something," or "Did you read the book The Game?"

I think I would say I've heard about it, but I don't own a TV, which I don't. Not exactly sure how I would roll off that though, probably a neg somewhere.

Also I just wanted to share an experience I had this weekend. I was at a bar when these two girls swung by and I was with my buddies. They approached us but they could have been drink whoring, but we didn't buy them any drinks. Anyway I was negging this one girl, getting physical, and pretending to kiss her, etc. And then she throws out this "But you're like a foot shorter than me," and to be fair I'm a small guy (5'4"), and I think it could have been a great opportunity for me to work some PUA skills, of which I had none, but after watching Mystery roll off a comment like that I think if I was better I could have totally turned that around and do some DHVs or negs, but instead I just kind of backed off and laughed it off. There goes a demonstration of my lack of skills.

I recommend searching for "VH1", cause there has been a ton of discussion about this already and although I'm sure you'll get some new people responding and maybe a couple new ideas, there are a lot of great ones on the forum already.

"Ohhhh Yeeeeahhh, I saw a couple minutes of that show, the Dude's Top Hat was fuckin' awesome, but why did......he.....talk.....like.....this....." OR "The Game? what's that about basketball or somethin'?" Then when they describe the subject matter w/ you as a comparison, act like it's a huge compliment and neg them again like "You wish I was hitting on you!!"

On a sidenote, I went out a couple of weeks ago and ACTUALLY SAW two women fighting outside the bar and DIDN'T TALK ABOUT IT because of that damned show. Oh well...

Anytime an HB accuses me of being a player or PUA I turn it around on them and say something like, "Are you trying to tell me you're a player?". There's tons of responses you can say when accused of watching the show or reading the game. Here's a few I can think of off the top of my head:

"For me to pick you up, I'd first have to be interested"

"I don't pick up women, I meet them"

Her: "Did you get that from the PUA on VH1?"
You: "The PUA? Are you hitting on me/ Are you trying to pick me up?"

Her: "Do you use this on all women you meet?"
You: "Only the ones that ask silly questions/ Why? Do you want me to show you how to meet girls?"

Oh, and don't be afraid to use any concepts you've learned from the PUA on VH1 or The Game. People don't really remember that show anymore and if they do they only remember the openers or canned material- not the concepts of negs and DHV's. If you're confident in how you say things, no one will call you out because it sounds natural. If any girl calls you out on being short, turn that around on them too! Don't take that shit! It's probably a test to see if you roll over and submit to anything they say. You have a few options when they do this: One, you can just ignore it and continue what you were doing, or throw in another neg. Two, say something like "Whoa, slow down there. I wasn't really going to kiss you! You're not my type at all- you're too much of a nice girl for me" or some other false disqualifier. Actually, there are endless responses to something like that, but that's all I can think of right now. Hope that helps

I would admit that I have read that material, and that it has pretty interesting theories. Then follow with a small lesson about human psychology and social dynamics (I consider that DHV), it will be interesting to her mainly because of all the VH1 fuss. However, make your own material, don't use scripted lines.

I still consider the VH1 show a bad idea. When someone read a book The Game, they at least got the whole story and psychological insight. It made PUA look good. "The Pickup Artist" on the other hand was on TV, that means that any shallow, half-brained party chick with IQ lesser than number of letters in alphabet knows about it, has bad opinion of it (because she most likely never thought about it from men's perspective or haven't really thought about it and doesn't get it) and hates men for doing it. While the book was really about life-transforment, and psychology, and warned us about what might happen if we would give into it too much (you know, "give in to the dark side "), the show shows the worst part of it from the worst perspective.

Paetar I like your idea of getting into the psychology of things. I don't want to play like I didn't see the show (even though I don't have a TV), because I think blatantly lying like that would trip me up. But I think going into the psychology of it would be great, and you're right, that's definitely DHV.
