I used to be able to get a high response rate, and lots of dates/hookups with just a few messages exchanged on myspace from 2007-2011. Now I can send out messages and get one response that goes nowhere. It seems few women actually use it anymore.

Same with pof. Hooked up and dated a lot from 2006-2011 but now I gt no responses even with same successful profile and opener as before. I noticed you can't seem to write your own subject line anymore, at least not unless you pay. I used to write a subject line that all but guaranteed a response, it made me stand out from all the "hi" messages. Now it looks like free users default to "hi" subject line and thus you blend into a sea of sausage.

So what are the hot sites now? lol

Funny enough, I remember a long time ago I used to go out and talk to ten girls on the street and get maybe 2 numbers (and I'm a good looking guy, was just doing it wrong). Once I found cocky comedy and David D as well as got experience/good at it, especially reading IOI, etc. I started getting 4 out of 4, (only tried recently though) since I typically only approached women who appeared interested. I know David D talks about some guys who have great success this way with low rejection since they read womens IOI's so well. In any case, These were 25% workday flirts (stores I frequent and flirt with the girl over time) and 75% girls I met same day. A large part of it was learning to recognize IOI and use cocky comedy to amplify it when I approached to talk to them.

I think I'm going to start blending day game with online, especially since it's easier to get numbers for hot girls in person than online, with less effort, but I still prefer online because it's what I know and had the most success with historically. I had time to build attraction to the point they didn't flake and we went home quickly (in some cases just came directly over or invited me over). Trouble is those sites seem to not be as good now. Maybe switching to paid for sites is best? I presume the users are more serious and there are less guys flooding the girl with stupid messages.

Also, I've noticed lots of hot women dressed up and shopping for groceries alone Fri/sat nights, when most would be at the bar. All looked single and looking, made eye contact with smile when I walked by, and were dressed unusually sexy/stylish for a grocery trip at 9PM sat night. I mean why else would they be out shopping that time of night unless signaling that they are available?

How do you know POF is not sending your messages? I had heard that okcupid was doing this as well and was wondering if pof might not be sending my messages either because I used to have a high response rate and it's been declining as well.

Oh yes. I have also noticed this and i may need to re-think the decision to not be in 'pickup mode' during these hours when i'm in that situation again.

I found a thread on their forums, several actually, that complained of the same thing, and posters linked to the FAQ that talked about it in detail. Time for pay sites. Women/people who pay are more serious compared to people who have nothing to lose and are using it for attention because it's free.

POF will block you from sending messages if they're cut and pasted. Not sure how many you have to do but the previous poster's guess at 4 is probably about right.

Once you click on the reply box, POF counts the amount of characters you use when you type the message and then checks it against the amount of characters actually sent. If you're cutting and pasting a 100 character message but only using two clicks to type them (ie cut and paste) then the disparity is picked up and the message is blocked.

To get round it; Once you have cut and pasted your message, pick a letter (x?) and keep your finger on the the key till you have a stream of x's longer than the message and then backspace clear them. Then when you send it the character count will be more than the message. It's ok it being longer as it could have been edited and you taken some things out yourself.
