1 I can play the piano and I want to be able to sing while playing so I picked up vocal lessons which start Saturday. Now it wasn't my orrigional motivator but I was thinking singing and playing piano would be attractive. However what style of music and what songs should I learn that would be most attractive to girls. The songs I was orrigionaly going to shoot for were:

Sombody to love- queen
Moondance- van Morrison
Piano man - billy jolle
Or songs that envoke emotion

However I didn't know if there were better songs also depending on what the teacher tells me she may decide my voice is fit for something else. Got a feeling I will end up singing blues or soft jazz.

If you can sing and play well it doesn't matter what song you're doing. Girls will love it. Just don't think that you can have terrible game and girls will still jump on your hog every time you sing. It can help, but its not a replacement for actual pick up experience.

If you feel the need to impress her, you have already lost!

There isn't really a her I am asking a question about something girls in general would like and be attention grabbing.

This question is pointless. It's like asking the question: "What kind of music do people like?". The answer will be different every time. Play the music YOU like, not what you think girls will like.

Impressing women will not get you laid, because it shows you believe you need to earn the girl... WRONG!!! The girl needs to earn YOU!!

Be yourself and stop caring what girls think of you. This is coming from a working musician with hundreds of lays and multiple relationships. Girls don't care what kind of music you play, they are attracted to HOW you perform, not WHAT you perform.

I don't sing but I play .. playing is enough .... use it as a hook to get them to your place and then play a few minutes and watch the panties drop.. assuming you are any good

This has met with a slightly harsh response. Any musician should surely be aware of their audience and what they want. E.g. I played an open mic last night and these girls played three songs of their own, one of which was about suicide. They played what they wanted to play, but I think it comes across a little arrogant to not play a single cover, and you know, try to bring your audience UP a little?

It stands to reason that singing songs about romantic themes will connect with women more. Playing technically good prog-rock type stuff without much emotion will not have the same effect. So it's not an invalid question, even if I agree the OP's frame is poor.

Hunter's right there's no substitute for HOW you play, the passion and the ability to connect with an audience. So there's a compromise involved.

I'm a fan of Sam Smith and he's popular right now, you could check him out and if it is congruent to you (what the others are getting at) then I'd imagine it would be a good option.

I had a friend that used to sign rather horribly while we and our dates were out for dinner, walk etc.
I couldn't believe in my ears. He was ridiculous.

BTW nowadays the brainwashing mainly comes from youporn etc where guess what most chicks spend a good time with.
