I've always tried to keep my online and text conversations short and cut to the asking out as soon as possible. It's worked for me so far, but I'm currently chatting with a girl who's out of town, and I have no choice but to text. I've always been awful at texting, and could use some tips. I honestly can't tell if she's interested or not, she's very engaged in our conversations, always following up with a new question, but she's taking hours to reply. She has already agreed to get coffee when we get back, so is it possible that she's not a texter? That doesn't make much sense to me, being a 20 something year old girl. I just don't want to bore her or make her lose interest by that point

She's out of town, which I'm assuming means she's visiting family or on vacation, both of which means she doesn't have time to text a guy she doesn't even know. I go to the beach every summer for a week or two and if your text message doesn't involve someone dying or something about a playboy model orgy, I'm not responding any time soon. And lots of people are like this. If she is not taking alot of interest in replying back you aren't going to help you're case by texting her more. Unless we are talking a month or longer, text once a week or so, and wait til she's back in town. When she's back in town shoot her a message "so what souvenirs did you get me?" and then work out the logistics to meet up. And until then, as always, hit on other girls.

Show us some of the text conversations... We can likely tell you fairly quickly whether she's interested or not.

Keep the end cool and reserved without a lot of room for undesired interaction. Also, keep it upbeat.

Keep the opener high-energy and interesting unless the chick is likely to be blown away by your value.

Alright so just an update, we went for coffee and I'm not entirely sure how it went. I tend to over think things like this when I actually want it. She wouldn't let me pay for her coffee, She was very sweet and laughed at my jokes and such, seemed to be engaged in what I had to say, but her body language was very stiff and closed off. Idk. She said yes when I said we should hang out again some time but idk if she was just being polite

No problem, just meet other girls. Practice your physical rapport i.e. hugging when you first meet them, sitting next to them as you sip your coffees, kino escalation etc. And if it happens to turn out that this girl meets up again, great; if not, no big deal there are plenty of other girls who would love to hang out w/ you.
