Reading some other threads about text game seems like this is a fairly common issue, one of which I had recently. Was talking to this girl on the weekend for ages. Might sound boring but we connected on some heavy topics like politics and religion. I made it fun and she was digging it. Anyways, her friend got kicked out and she abruptly left before I got a chance to grab her number. Ended up getting it off another friend of hers. Texted her the next night:
Me: SURPRISE...
Her: Who is this?
Me: xxxx from last night. I was enjoying our light hearted conversations and you left before I got a chance to grab your number so i got it off xxxx. Saying it out loud now I feel a little stalker-esque...
Her: Haha no worries, xxxx told me he'd given it to you. SorryI left, xxxxxx was losing her shit. Ridiculously crazy weekend
Me: Yeah she was pretty wild, she did well to stay in there as long as what she did. Did you guys keep going afterwards?
Nothing until the next morning:
Her: Sorry fell asleep. Nah I cracked it and went home, not sure what the other two did. Did you have a big one?
(A couple of messages back and forth...)
The night we met, she mentioned that she read a certain newspaper daily that I gave her shit about and said it was super subjective and not real news...
Me: Getting your daily fix of sub-par "news" in the daily telegraph this morning???
No Response all day.
Now I know it's bad form to double text early on, but here I felt it saved an unnecessary stalemate. Later that night:
Me: Wow you must really love the daily telegraph. sorry if that last comment came across as offensive...
Her: What comment?
Me: I take it you never got my last text (I copy and pasted it and sent it again)
Her: Haha no I didn't get it, and yes I did get my Tele fix thank you very much! News snob
It was getting late and I left it there, now I'm kicking myself cos I'd just hooked her to play along and I cut it off waaay early. This was all last night. Reading over this post I can see a lot of AFC shit going on, but she's an intelligent girl and I don't think she would fall for the normal cocky stuff. Wondering if anyone would critique or could chime in on what the next move might be. Not sure how to bring it back now...
