I'm The Smith and I've only really just started to scratch the surface of PUA, but I must admit I'm having a s**t load of fun with these techniques. To be honest it's been a bit of a mind f*** since I stumbled across your crazy little world - why didn't I discover this stuff years ago.

Anyways, I made my first approach tonight and I had the most awesome piece of dumb luck just a few minutes in. I used the age old question about pets and 80's names as an intro and kind of moved from there, but I noticed the edge of a tattoo peeking out from under the neck line of one of the girl's shirts and I said,

Me: "Your tattoo keeps catching my eye, what does it say?"

Her:"It's a Dr Seuss quote. My dad used to say it to me"

Me (without reading the quote): "Really. Ok let's have a little bet... if I can tell you the book your quote is from then you have to buy me a drink. If I'm wrong then I'll buy one for you."

Her: "Ok"

Me: "Oh, the places you'll go."

Her "Oh my god, that totally it. How did you know."

Me: "It's a gift. Lets go to the bar."

It's the only Dr Seuss book, with perhap the exception being The Lorax, with any really quotable lines. She was amazed, it really boosted our rapport and I was able to isolate her from the group. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb luck. You gotta love it.

To be brutally honest, at the risk of sounding like a soft cock, I've actually got a girlfriend right now so I'm behaving myself - my closure in the end was just "it was nice meeting you" after a bit of a chat and a few drinks. But I'm cool with that, it's all good fun regardless and I like meeting new people.
