So I have been thinking to try LinkedIn to pick up?
Has anyone here tried or thought about this?

I got a date once off LinkedIn... Went horrible.

You have to connect with someone in order to message them first, though - so the pretext is that you pretty much know them to begin with. Why bother with Linked In? You could just email them or text them in most cases...

There's also the professionalism aspect to all of this. It's a social network for professionals. Your connections are mostly work based (or they are in my case anyway) - picking up coworkers via Linked In may get frowned upon if someone found out. If it's someone from an old job though, I think that's probably fair game.

If you're going to do it, I don't think I'd treat it much differently than a friendly email or text... (depending how well you know the person, of course).

Well what I'm thinking is connecting with random people around the area.. not the people you're already connected with. You have fb for that.
I know I connect with randon people here and there and 98% of the time they accept the connection. After that you csn just message the person. It'll be a bit tricky though to open.

Usually people send a generic message when you accept their invitation to connect.. wherr they basicslly just say thank you and briefly explain whwt they do. Im gonna try it out as you can't really go direct on linkedIn.

Any thoughts on what may be a good way to open?
