who do you look at when two people talk at the same time?

I find that conversations tend to be disordered. I like order and predictability but conversations are never ordered or predictable. if you are talking to three people, you might have all three of them jumping in and bombarding you with their input at the same time.

my question isn't even about pick up, it's a social question. I will give you an example of my troubles. today I met this woman (60s) and this girl (30s) and her boyfriend (30s). it turns out they were from Australia. I asked them "so you guys have kangoroos there?" all 3 got excited and started talking at the same time.

when this happens, who do you look at? do you just focus on one of them and ignore the other two?

I say "whooa! slow down here! one at a time!". If you focus on a single person you will signal disinterest in the other two, in a quite impolite way IMO.
