It's not like I've been rude, and it's not like I've ever run awkward game on her unsuccessfully, and I don't have some kind of massive yearning crush. I just haven't even tried to run any kind of game on anyone anywhere, but starting to feel like maybe I should and she's kind of hot. My concern being it could be more awkward than just walking up to someone I've never seen before because of the congruency factor. Like she's gotten used to me as a face in the crowd, pegged me as married/gay/asexual/just not an option for reasons she doesn't care enough to guess at, and even the most subtle change could come off creepy even if done in a way that would work on a girl I'm meeting for the first time.

Since 1. it's not like I've literally never interacted with her, and 2. there's the possible perception of crushy stalker even though I'm not.

At first maybe make some sort of observational remark like, "It smells really good in here". Then follow up with "My name is ____. How's it going?" To which she'll respond with her name and some response like, "It's going good."
From there either deliver a compliment or just try to get to know her. Try to do this when it's not too busy at her work. Then say, "I'm going to go eat, talk to you in a bit."
Then n-close. Call her the next day. Easy. _________________ The ultimate lesson of psychoanalysis is that human life is never "just life": we are possessed by the strange drive to enjoy life in excess, attached to a surplus which derails the ordinary run of things.
