Hi Lads,
So theres this girl in work who I spotted about a year ago, Blonde, beautiful etc. Over time I'd catch her looking at me and she would catch me looking at her. I didnt approach her because.........well lots of reasons, basically its frowned upon in the job. But last week she came up to my desk and asked me a question which Im pretty sure she knew the answer to already, Im pretty sure it was just an excuse to come talk to me because when she left she gave me a massive eye fuck. And then when she was leaving for the day she passed my desk again, turned to me and an even bigger eye fuck. Same again the next day. I was desperately trying to think of an excuse to go over to her desk and talk and I swear my mind went blank, I could only come up with lame lines. So that was friday and all weekend I was annoyed at myself for not going over to her. I had an idea though...........I knew she was working on a project and would be pretty busy so I figured I could write her a note! Just do a drive by and hand it to her, then walk away. I made sure it wasnt too heavy or too long, something short and sweet and after about 20 drafts I thought I'd nailed it.
So Monday came, I saw her at her desk with her head down, looking pretty busy. I walked up to her, said Hi and gave her the note then walked off. Feeling pretty chuffed with myself I went back to my desk expecting a response at any moment, so I waited............and I waited.........and waited........and nothing. She left that evening, walked by my desk and didnt even look at me. Its been the same since then. Im gutted to be honest because I think I managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. My problem was so many times over the years I've gotten the come on from girls and did nothing and this time I was determined not to just just on my hands and do fuckall.
So my take on it is this........I think she did like me but the mistake I made was trying to jump stages and not escalate bit by bit. Heres exactly what I wrote in the note:

Hey,
I really wanted to go over and talk to you the other day but I know you were busy and I didnt want to interrupt you. I regretted that though and so I figured I'd be really smooth and write a note.....
Just occured to me that I dont even know your name, what is it?

Then I signed my name. I didnt put my phone number on there because I thought that was a bit pushy.
So what do you guys think I did wrong?

Not to be harsh but grow up! You're not in high school and girls aren't looking for the shy, understated, scared-shitless-to-talk-to-girls type...

Introduce yourself. Boldly. Get her number. Text her or call her. Suggest a coffee date at work disguised as a break...

Ha ha, fire away be as harsh as you like, thats fine by me. Yeah after I had done it I thought the same thing. Although to be fair the note thing did work for me before.........albeit after I had actually talked to the girl in person first.
