So I went last week with my friends to a pub in Edinburgh, noticed this girl sitting alone on the bar having a beer so I headed off to the bar aswell and asked if they had some chips or peanuts, so the bartender said they didn't have any, but I could get some olives with a martini..so I made a joke and both the girl and the bartender laughed. immediately I turned to her and started talking and we got along really well she seemed really interested and she was doing most of the talking, then at some point in the conversation I did the cube test and she was stunned with the results and asked me what do I do, and if I was a psychologist or something so we just kept talking and she mentioned that tomorrow she needs to go swimming before work so I dropped a question if she wants to go have lunch tomorrow sometime she said she was busy that day so I just brushed it off and talked about something else...then my friends came to me and they said they were leaving and I was ok so I paid for my drinks but then I looked at her she had already paid and she told me it was really nice talking and then left.. I have no clue where I went wrong..should I have asked for her number earlier? or asked her if she wants to hang out since we were heading to a club

I would have gotten her number right after you asked if she wanted to join you for lunch.

On the few occasions I've been through back in the days (before I knew game) where the girl did all the talking, it ended abruptly every time with her leaving me. I can understand that a guy who doesn't say much is perceived as boring, putting all the responsibility of the conversation on her. However, in my case the girl was literally babbling constantly without any pauses, so there was no room for me to say anything anyway, and I found the situation quite amusing.

The conclusion is that you need to take a more active part in the conversation. You don't have to lead it though if the girl takes that role willingly, since being a good listener is a good quality too. But you need to be involved, asking questions and relate to what she says and tell some stories of your own.
