| Point taken; I guess I haven't been too direct, even if I'm becoming more so.
Yesterday, I approached her alone in her office. The situation was, I'd I'd earlier been talking to someone else near the desk, and she had been giving me a proximity alert. Taking that as a vote of confidence, I approached her just before I had to catch my bus, so I had a natural time restraint. <Complimenting how good she looked, ala direct. Then, I started talking about myself, whilst asking questions about her, whilst teasing, which worked pretty well. Said something that caused a big positive reaction, geting her to playfuly joke about throwing me out, but in the process omy reply, I made another positive comment about her looks, which led her to take more defensive body language. Shaken by her reaction, I decided to eject before stuck my foot in my mouth, anymore. I said I had to go, and shook hands. SHe had a strong grip, too; could have been an IOI, but I'm not sure.
Let's replay the situation: Were I going direct, how should I have played it? I did a direct opener, but I didn't do enough qualification, did I? Shoulda been open, qualify, while teasing intermittently, yes?
I guess I really don't know how to do a direct sarge; any good examples you could show? _________________ If you ever get the idea that I'm a crazy contrarian, just get a whiff my blogs:
