While at a hostel in San Francisco, during breakfast, I met a very open and attractive Swedish girl in her mid twenties. The conversation was great. I was talking about how I was a summer visa at the time, and looking for a job. She said she'd give me her number in case she could help. I was of course a new number, as she was new in town too, so she didn't know it off the top of her head. We went back to her room to get the phone number. She had a private room unlike most other guests at the hostel! I stood at the door while she went in, she said come on in, so I did. If there was anything going on between us, I guess from that point, it was up to me to take things further. But if I was to just say something like, "is that the only reason you invited me in here", then she could have got quite offended if she wasn't looking for a lay.

I don't know... I guess these thoughts are going to dawn on you if you've been in the same room as any attractive lady. I just can't help but think that when people are on holidays, that they're more likely to behave badly! But then again, I really don't have any idea what my odds would have been, or what reaction to have expected! And giving that I'm posting here on a PUA forum, I guess people are probably far more likely to presume that she wanted to fuck me as opposed just getting the number, but I really don't know!!?

You have nothing to lose. It's hard to say since we were not there..

But the ultimate answer is, that you will miss 100% of the shots that you don't take..

Not trying, is almost certain the worst thing you could done in that case.

If she gives her number straight away, then there was nothing going on. But if she hesitates or change subject (i.e. 'hey, do you see this picture? it was taken when i was ..), then you know.

Since you are both new in town, this creates a sort of bonding. This is extra support to your game.

Could you please elaborate on that? If she hesitates by changing the subject, I thought that wouldn't be a good sign at all? In this case, I didn't ask her for her number, she offered, but it was apparently for a different reason as stated

mate, if she offered her number to you and invites you to her room, that is a good sign. You are not there yet, but you are in the right direction

When you are in her room, there should be a tense (= natural attraction between men and women) between you and her. Then if she changes subject, while looking for her phone, actually she is waiting for you to make move. At this moment, she hasn't decided yet to put you in friendzone or BF-zone. This was a window of opportunity for you.

You should have tried and calibrated after the fact. Then you would have known if you needed to take a step back.

I don't understand the meaning of the word 'calibrated' in that context?
