I'm 26, 5'6", I have a fairly athletic/muscular body (I work out 3x a week)...I have my own place but not my own car and I have a shitty office job that I barely make minimum wage from. I've been told by a few girls that my face is cute, but a few others (especially on dating sites) have told me I'm ugly. Can I successfully get the girls I want??...especially considering I'm most attracted to girls in their late teens/early 20s?...am I too old now?

I've only had sex with three girls, and the first was when I was 22. I was only really attracted to one of those girls (even so, I'd rate her 8 rather than 10/10). Apart from her, I've never even got to kiss anyone I was attracted to.

I'm so frustrated because beautiful girls always ignore me and I just can't get anywhere with them. I'm really at a low point now, as it's got to me so much I'm permanently depressed, anxious and stressed.

Where do I begin learning pickup? Can anyone recommend a book, etc. or an *affordable* course I could attend in London? I basically only have a few 100 £s in savings, and the rest of the money in my bank account is for groceries and bills.

Are there other guys who had no luck with girls all through their teens and early 20s but were able to learn pickup and successfully get the girls they wanted in their late 20s? Once I'm able to get these girls, will it make up for never getting girls in my teen years? Or will I still feel the pain I feel about that?

Most people start with "The Game." (book) It's got some good advice, but it's pretty anti-pick up at the end.
Also, Robert Greene, the Art of Seduction.

I'm letting you know up front, learning pickup won't save your self-esteem and won't get you out of depression. That's shit you need to work on. You can spit lines all day, but if you aren't confident and you don't love yourself, no one will want anything to do with you.

Stop asking girls if they find you attractive. If they do, you'll get signals. If not, who gives a fuck what they think?

You're as attractive as you feel, dude.

Also, age doesn't really matter. You may not have a lot in common with them, though, so finding common ground may be a bit of an issue. Still, you can work through that.

@Damien Cash: I've already read The Game, about 4 yrs ago...but I didn't really learn anything in terms of practically what to do and where to start in this game.

The Mystery Method is the best intro book I think. (Also the game to get a feel for it)

Things you could consider reading:

Natural game by gambler, double your dating David DeAngelo, not to do with Pick up but Awaken the giant or unlimited power by Anthony Robbins (both motivational psychology), influence by Robert cialdini (looks at the psychology of persuasion and what factors influence decision making).
