last night i went into a group of three girls who were trying to fend off two guys.
chatted away, had a few laughs got her number and left.
ended up seeing her later on and she had asked for my number.
texted me saying: hey its ... the awsome chick eating a hot dog
me: hey! you werent to bad what are you doing?
her: sleepy

left it at that and went home as a mate was staying at my place and lives out of town. so i never pursued it.
my question is what should i text her now? i just never know what to say on the first text. nor have i learned enough yet to know the technique

Here's 2 options on the opening text listed in order that i prefer to use them
1. remember me - text her something that you did that was memorable so she knows its you, "Hey let's go grab s'more hotdogs again, i'll give you a chance to redeem how you ate one yesterday" or "hey I'll show you more magic tricks like the one i did yesterday we can meet at the park" ect. - it throws the you:"hi" her:"who are you?" awkward text out the window
2. random event - something pertaining to you or her, silly or real "Hey I just saw an old man driving a scooter in leather pants and a t shirt and was reminded of you" or "I was getting sleepy and remembered your text last night" just something to throw her off game

for both of these the main technique is it's about you and her, something special you shared together and give the conversation the vibe that when she's with you fun things like those happen, and you want to meet and do more things again
(also good job on leaving it on her "sleepy" text, it most likely would've gone downhill from there if you pushed to talk more)

yeah i knew if i had of texted her it would have just been a dead end anyway.
