Girl contacts me to ask if I'm over in her city at the weekend for a mutual friends night out.

I say yeah, is she coming etc.

she says maybe but on the other hand she wants to quit drinking for a month.

I made light of this and said that can wait until another month. No text back.

I know I should have been supportive of the idea as she wants to see if I am just hoping we'll get drunk and end up in bed together (happened before - no sex).

I really should have said something about having a chilled night out the two of us on the night before the party.

How to recover this?

I'm not all that good at recovery, because I'm more into SNLs. What you could try is checking in with her after a month and ask how to alcohol free month went? That way you have a conversation starter and if she hated it you guys can go out for drinks. If she liked it you guys can go out for lemonade, idk.

BTW, if you were texting and you get a ST, think before you type. I've seen a load of guys try to text something witty back and thus fail the ST.

Also don't get oneitis... It's back for you.
