When it comes to voice tone, body language, projection, engaging an audience, role models are great. A picture speaks 1000 words, and a video speaks 10,000.

Who have you seen giving public speeches that you find most impressive and would see as someone to model after in terms of their approach to it and delivery? Why?

Don't want to get any political here (I'm German) but I watched Barack Obama in 2008 in Berlin.
I was quite close.
I think there's some good stuff to learn about conveying alpha-male behaviour in this video.

The whole documentary is about body language in general - Mostly Politicians are being covered/analyzed there regarding their body language. Pretty interesting stuff.

Sean Stephenson is a phenomenal powerful speaker who takes you on an emotional roller coaster.

Bill Clinton is also a phenomenal speaker with tons of charisma.

Those are some of the better ones I've seen but you know I haven't seen a whole lot. I highly recommend watching Stephenson for content alone let alone the powerful speech he gives.

Thanks Shinjuku. Very interesting video. I will have to save that one to watch

Poeticly, Clinton is definitely a master. I will have to check out more Sean Stephenson. Thanks for the recommendation. He sounds remarkable.

Politicians are very poor liars. If you're seeking good body language, try some Vlad Putin.

I would say someone like Tony Robbins. Politicians can be a bit contrived (for me personally)

President Obama. Not once, but twice he scammed a majority of the nation into voting for him with nothing but slick speeches.

Tony Robbin's is a fantastic example.

I recall watching him completely take advantage of his power by asking on his female members of the audience when was the last time she 'blew' her husband.

I am very anti-Obama but I completely agree, that fucker is a godlike speaker.

Also, don't discount the fact that some TV shows have some great speakers. Just because it's a fictitious show doesn't mean that you can't learn a thing or two. The Governor from The Walking Dead, strangely enough, is an amazing display of influential speaking and overall alpha behavior.

Yeah, Hitler. You couldn't deny his prowess as a wordsmith not to mention the passion and composure when he addressed a public audience. Guy convinced an entire country to essentially commit genocide, not many people can do that.

In terms of vocality, I'm high on Eben Pagan. There's just something about his voice that I envy.

Also, not exactly a public speaker per se, but the tonality, facial expression, and general body language of Clark Gable is legendary. He was charisma manifest and it's true what they say—the man really did carry himself like a king. Just watch how he walks in Gone With the Wind. It's so casual, yet so regal.

Bill Clinton. Even when you don't like him, you kind of like him.

I think there were a couple of other reasons America voted for him besides his "slick speeches".

I second Tony Robbins and for a politician, I think NJ Governor Chris Christie has it down as well.

Winston Churchill, his tonality and timing are extraordinary.
