Hey guys I was curious how do you proceed with paying the bill at the coffee on the 1st date.

Do you pay all the bill or everyone pays what's his bill.

Please argument yourself.

If you pay all the bill doesn't it feels for you like a little kiss-assing or showing off. What positive characteristic it conveys.

If you split it... what this conveys.

I usually don't like much paying the bill on the 1st date, since we don't know each other that much.

On my last couple of dates (two different girls in San Diego) I tried something different that worked well.

Bill comes, and I say "so is this a date or are we just hanging out, if it's a hang out let's split the check like *friends*".

They both said "DATE!" (no shit).

But the first I ended up going to bed with. She had a cold-sore on her lip, herpes, so I refused to kiss her.. So I only got a hand job...

The second one was smoking hot and I'm taking her wine tasting this weekend. After our first date I got a few texts about "thanks for an amazing date" and in response to our wine tasting trip "I'm so excited ".

So I guess the "if it's a date" bill thing didn't so any damage.

Would love to hear other thoughts on this.

I like what Cool_Hand suggested. It's actually really solid and if she says friends it's not a big deal.

I usually pay for the meal but have her pay the tip. I'm definitely going to start doing what the above suggested!

I put my amex down when the check comes. simple. Contrary to most advice, not paying makes you look like a cheap bastard. If you are broke as shit, do dates where money doesn't matter. Not paying the bill, unless maybe you are dating a 22 year old, will make many girls who have jobs and careers run for the hills.
