On my fake experimental account I sent this to 12 girls and got 2 responses on POF age 22

"Just letting you know you are pretty, good luck finding someone."

The idea is that you're saying something brave then walking away, giving them the choice to contact you.
Maybe there is a better way to say it... anyway..

If they reply they'll say thanks

Ask what they are up to in the week and try to set a date.

That is a horrible message. If they think you are of higher value, they'll think you were insulting them.

Imo it's more of a 'neg', maybe put an 'x' after the message. All I can suggest is try it on a fake profile before doing it on a real one.

In the end I got some interest from 2 girls

2 girls out of 22? Do you consider that good? So.. you have two chances at getting a relationship or a lay (whichever you are looking for).

2 out of 12, and I know that ratio is meaningless to others but I did better than anything else I tried.
What would you open with?
