Hey guys,

I've been meaning to post this since saturday but I've been crazy busy. It's from last thursday. I took my friend out for drinks. She's a bit of an introvert and wants to make friends so I was trying to help her out. Anyway, it's my first field report. I'm not entirely sure if I did it correctly. Keep me in line if I'm doing anything wrong.

I'm not going to use anyone's names. I use certain nomenclature that I hope you will all be able to catch onto. My winglady: Angel, Target: Lady in the Red Dress (I also use this for female Alphas) and I used Brave New World social stats Beta, Omega etc.

My Angel was looking at me for the first move. I’d always told her how easy it was to approach to strangers, to meet new people and go on new and exciting adventures but she always told me the same thing.
“It’s easier said than done.”
She may be right about that, but I’ve never believed that obstacles are something that stop you from reaching your goals. Obstacles are meant to be overcome.
We sat in the corner nursing our drinks, examining the room for the easiest approachable group. There was a girl’s night out on the opposite side of the room, a co-ed group taking shots by the bar and a group of wallflowers gathered, well, next to the wall. There were a few solo acts wandering around as well, but I generally prefer fishing with a net instead of a hook.
“Which group should we go for?” I asked her.
“Let’s go for the group by the bar.” she said
Unfortunately no sooner than the words came out of her mouth, the group made their way to the empty dance floor where they began to energetically break dance. Not the ideal situation to start conversation and make friends, unless you’re a character from Step Up.
“How about the girls night out?” I asked.
“Really? I don’t know?” she said. I didn’t blame her but I didn’t feel like bar hopping so I just forced the situation onto her.
“I’ll go in first then I’ll give you the signal.”
“Okay. Wait, what’s the signal?” she said. I walked on without giving her an answer.
Walking up to the group I saw the sure sign for catastrophe. The Lady in the Red Dress. She on the opposite side of the table from me which made her ideal for a direct approach, this way all of her friends could hear me as well. She was definitely the most beautiful of the group and she knew it. Despite my feelings for a net, I went for the hook.
“So who's your favorite beggar here in town?”
HIndsight proved this to be a fairly weak opener, but I like to experiment with original material and play with possibilities.
“Excuse me?” she said. In addition to it being a weak opener unfortunately, I wasn’t loud enough either.
“Your favorite beggar. Every town has a beggar. In fact, I saw two before I came in here. The man who pretends to play the violin and the man who pretends he cannot walk. Which one would you justify giving money to?”
She rolled her eyes and turned away from me. A complete and utter rejection, but I’ve always been pretty stubborn, when somethings broken I like to fix it. When I get rejected I take it as a challenge.
I walked around the table placing myself directly between her and friend one of her friends. She was looking right at me. I think I scared her a little bit. I looked right into her eyes and I turned my back toward her and asked her friend the same question.
So much for a hook.
“Who would you give money to?”
Her friend, who was terribly unattractive and probably the Omega, opened right up to me. I could tell the others weren’t sure how to feel so I waved to Angel. The Beta, I assume was looking to defend the group. I could hear her say something to me, but I could make it out clearly, although her body language made it pretty clear she wasn’t thrilled I was hanging around.
This is where it comes in handy to have a female wingman. Angel arrived and I just ignored what the Beta had to say. I cupped my hand and held it to my ear.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t hear you. Oh, this is my friend Angel. Angel, this is… I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name.”
The Beta was completely distracted with Angel’s arrival; the Lady in the Red Dress was still sitting awkwardly, unsure of what was going on. To be completely honest at this point I had no idea what was going on in her head. I went back to running game on the unattractive Omega who was fairly eager to receive my attention. There were two other girls in the group. At this point I think all of them were terribly confused, except for the Omega she was overjoyed.
I couldn’t continue to run game on the Omega, I didn’t want her to get the wrong idea, so I opened to the group and surveyed for shots. I already need they had every intention of going out and getting shitfaced before I arrived and I didn’t want to ruin their night.
Unfortunately they still weren’t accepting me into the group and the Lady in the Red Dress had remained silent this whole time. I was in serious danger of losing the whole group. Angel was still chatting it up with the Beta and it looked like she was getting a little acceptance. I was going to have to restructure the hierarchy of the group if I was going to close the Lady in the Red Dress.
“Angel…”
“What?!”
“Do you want a shot?”
“Sure.”
This was when introductions finally occurred. I asked the Omega her name and introduced myself as Sunshine, a nickname I got in Iraq. I’ve noticed in the past it’s perfect for sinking ship groups like this one. It raises eyebrows, gets them to invest in me and lowers defenses. Maybe they think I’m gay?
Anyway, the group is shocked by my name and insist on knowing my real name, but I keep it a mystery. I offer to play Rumpelstiltskin and if they win I’ll pay for everyone’s drinks for the entire night. Thankfully they went for it. Finally, I was getting somewhere.
I continued to run game on the group so we didn’t spend the rest of the night playing Rumpelstiltskin.
The Lady in the Red Dress was still acting poignant but the Beta and the rest of the group had accepted me. I got Angel to send the Beta off for drinks solidifying my role as Alpha and her role as Beta. When the former Beta returned with a waitress and drinks I made a toast.
“To Homeless Hustlers.”
At this point I’m ready to isolate the Lady in the Red Dress. I ask the Omega if her friend just doesn’t like me or if she’s always this way and process to excuse myself in order to “smooth things over”.
I start on the LRD by complimenting her hair which she was wearing down and then neg her to by saying it would look better up. I had noticed some mirrors in one of the corners of the club earlier and took her to them. I encourage her to admire herself in the mirror for a few moments before lifting her hair for her and again telling her how much better she would look with her hair up. This gives me the opportunity to mix and match some routines. (The Devil’s Advocate, Caveman Routine, Pleasure zones.)
After a few minutes of getting her worked up. I suggest we rejoin the group. I notice Angel isn’t having such a good time since I left. So I tell the group that we were supposed to be meeting friends somewhere else and it’s time for us to go. The LRD’s face was priceless, she wanted me to stay. I slipped her my card. ( I always carry business cards with my name and number.) The rest of the group still wanted to guess my name for the free drinks. The LRD looked at the card when they mentioned this and looked back up at me. I put my finger to my lips and then to hers.

“Don’t cheat!”

We left and I immediately got a text.
