Hi Board,

this might sound like a typical first world problem, but my gf [35, teacher] is prone to take a break after "intense" meetings and when we see each other for longer periods on a stretch (e.g.: holidays, weekends).

Now I can understand the need for privacy and "doing your own stuff", but her explanation is that she needs inner distance after our meetings else she won't be able to get her work done as her mind is wandering off to "us" etc. It is understandable because we are very much into each other (it has been only going on since November after all), but I don't think this "jo-jo-ing" is a healthy way to deal with it and a good way to deepen a relationship. Am I overthinking this? I've met unstable women before and she doesn't fit the description.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Let it evolve with no pressure. You need your own time as well. If she senses you are needy it will only push her away. Let her be the one to set the pace of your relationship. If after a few months she's still doing it and you are not OK with how it's going, break up with her, as she's obviously not going to change.
