Hi, I started to work on a new company by two months ago, and some days ago I needed to go to the reception for the first time (the company is a large one and to go to work everyday I don't need to pass through reception, I work on a different building) and one of the receptionists is an HB 7,5.

The problem is she passes the entire day behind that desk and I never seen her on the company canteen or another place outside so that I can tal to her.

I already know her name and added her on facebook. The thing is, I don't like to chat, It's way better to talk in person, but I don' know how to open this girl and I'm tempted to chat with her on facebook, even I don't like it...

Any help...

And sorry for my bad english, I'm from Portugal.

You can try an indirect opener such as "hey, do you know the best place to get food quickly around here?"

The secret to most things is to never hold yourself to other people's standards.

Your best bet is to play the "new guy" introduce yourself in person and feel her out. (use heavy eye contact) You can ask typical "new guy" questions and observe her body language. If she is responsive/receptive to you, you can either cut it short ( as she may be busy) or try to build some quick rapport

Make it brief.

Either way it is important that you get on her radar, if everything goes well with the first encounter and there is signs of interest or potential for them, you can easily open her again either online or in person and go from there. Just be sure to show your interest sooner then later.

The thing is that she is not the only receptionist on that building, she is allways with a collegue, an older woman, they are allways together on that desk, and since I don't have reasons (besides talk to her) to go to that building, it feels awkward to go there.

But I surely will try something.

In that case I would talk to her on Facebook so you do not embaress her in front of her colleauge.
Ether that or just ask her if she is going out this weekend, and casually say that you should meet up or something.

I had a similar situation working for a corporate company. (Ground floor building reception) Saw an HB 7 sitting on reception who always looked bored. I didn't know how to approach as there was no real reason to make the slight detour over to her desk before going up the lift to my work floor.

I decided to play "naughty boy" pretending that I had lost my key card to get through the gates. This meant I had good reason to approach her as she would have to issue me with a temp card for the day. Said something to the affect of "I was gonna be cheeky and jump the security barrier but then I saw you here".

This allowed for an easy conversation starter for when I entered work the next day. So maybe try that
