So for some reason or another my luck on Match has been pretty awful lately. For one, I don't think it's my profile, my pictures but I think it's the dialogue after the initial contact. Here are some examples of conversations and I am baffled why they just stop...

I just came back and I can't wait to go again! Having a kiddo, do you get to travel much?

HER:
Must have been nice to escape the cold weather here I froze my ass off at the game last night, it was snowing while I was in the game but I didn't last a quarter on those iced up benches before I wanted to get back to the heat lamps at the tailgate :p I'm kind of a wuss in cold weather.

It is kind of hard to travel with a little one but as he gets older he is a little bit more nimble. I have family in Vegas and I'm planning a trip at the beginning of the year preferably when it is still cold here. There is nothing better than vacationing to a warm place and leaving the cold behind. Was there a special occasion for your vacation or was it just for fun?

ME:
I went for fun, I like to go every few months. I used to be stationed at **** couple hours outside of Vegas so I was always in Vegas. I met up with some old friends and had a great time. Yeah it got really cold here in Boise, it seems like over night. I am excited however, since it means we will be skiing soon. You should get one of those heated seat cushions that you can take to the game, that and your ski gear.

Well I am heading out to Vegas sometimes in January for a training exercise so I am looking froward to that. What do you like to do in Vegas aside from visiting family?

HER:
You have much more experience in Vegas than I. I have only visited once before, 12 years ago and to young to venture out on my own. My new step siblings came from vegas this summer to visit and invited my son and I to come visit their neck of the woods. I'm sure I'll figure out what I like most about Vegas then :p They have older kids to baby sit so I'll be able to play a little bit

I definitly agree I was not fully prepared for the cold bench seats at the game. I originally went for the tailgate and planned on keeping warm with tequila ha ha! Going into the game was unplanned, but when the opportunity presented itself i was all in. It was going well until it started snowing and the tequila wore off. A snow suit would have come in handy lol

Haha yes I am Mr Vegas!! Seriously though I can probably live there, but my wallet couldn't keep up. Tequila wore off? You probably didn't drink enough then Ok so that is one drink I seriously cannot throw down the gullet, in fact I am starting to gag right now thinking of the taste. I didn't usually drink tequila, but when I did, I drunk the tequila like a fish. Back in my uninformed, young and crazy days. I was also stationed in Phoenix so very much influenced by the locals.

Ok enough about Vegas, damn I am seriously having withdrawals. Anyways, I am flying nights this week so I am staying up late. I am not an insomniac but I guess that would be cool, cause I would be able to get so much done.

Haha you'd be surprised how many people never leave town they live in. Yeah I do actually, it's the next exit going westbound after Meridian Rd. I am doing great, enjoying the weekend with the kids. We just came back from Table Rock and now watching Football gonna have some wine. Hows your weekend going?

That sounds nice. I don't have my kids but just a relaxing weekend. I have a 11yr old daughter and a 7 yr old son. What about you?

Do you get them half the time? I have two kids ** and **. I get mine every other weekend since I live on the other side of Boise so it would be tough for school and I commute to the base every day. What do you do for work?

HER:
I get them 50% off the time. I felt it was important for them to have their dad too . I manage a medical spa.

ME:
Yeah I think that was a good call on your part. How do you like your job?

HER:
I like it. Just like any job it's a love hate relationship. How about you?

Yeah same, but I live for that hour when I fly. Sometimes it's kind of uneventful, but at other times it's thrilling especially when I fly low through the mountains and canyons in Idaho. My real passion however, is travel. If I won the lottery I would be a philanthropist and a traveler. Have you done much traveling?

Not only did she not respond after my last msg but she sort of blocked me, something you can do on Match. This is where I can't access her profile anymore.


Sorry for the long post but this is my biggest sticking point and I can't figure out what it is?

your sticking point is you beat around the bush way too much and write way too much ... short and sweet messages (i'm talking 1-2 lines unless they write you a big paragraph then maybe a little more) and get their number or give yours to arrange a date in the 2nd or 3rd message. Some girls do not respond when you move that fast but they are often a waste of time anyways. Most women want to just arrange a meeting already vs beating around the bush forever.

Fury I don't know brother, I feel that when I do that it also causes the stopped communication. I've done the quick turn around with few other girls and the communication stops. I had one of the girls above msg me today saying Happy Thanksgiving. I just replied thank you, Happy Thanksgiving. Without saying much more.

Not sure and could be way off, but I feel some of the girls on these dating web sites just want validation. They might run into some bad dates, and go to a sure thing, meaning guys that have showed interest in them previously.

Eh, I doubt it, especially on a pay site, that is just crazy man. Where are you from? Maybe it's different where you are from but in my experience (NYC, south florida burbs and new jersey suburbs) girls on here seeking validation is only a very small percentage. Also, does this happen with girls who contact you first?

Well I am here in Boise and there is a more conservative element amongst the people here. I think girls come on here and pick out one or two guys that they are really into and pursue those and everyone else they use to boost their ego and self-esteem. I'll give you another example but this one I think worked in my favor.

There is a girl that I met on tinder couple days ago. She is new to the area and from NY. I was one of the first to contact her and she really honed in on me. We chatted and clicked almost immediately and we are going on a date tonight. I also noticed that she hasn't logged into Tinder in almost a day so compared to guys that just cast a big net and hope to catch whatever, girls are very much more selective especially since there are 6 to 1 girl ratio on dating sites. Fury I would love to be in the dating game in cities like NY, San Fran and Miami. I think girls there are much different and more progressive then you find in smaller cities like Boise.

I've been here before. You're writing too much. And you're not really building attraction.
