When you say facebook dhv group, what do you want? If you just want to join a fb group where people are liking all your photos to "dhv" your profile, why does it matter where they live? Or do you want a group of people in Birmingham to meet up with for wing purposes etc.?

It matters where they live because obviously if they check and they live in like canada then yeah.
They will wonder how you know them

Firstly, why would someonebe looking at where your friends live? Sounds like the sort of nutter you want to avoid anyway!

Secondly, I'd say it's much more attractive to have friends from all over the world than it is to have all your friends from one town. Even if you haven't actually been all over the world, it gives the impression of being well travelled and being able to make friends easily. Ideally, you can say "oh I met them when I was travelling/on holiday/on business in that country".

And having spent plenty of time living in Birmingham myself, I know how easy it is to meet people in the city who live elsewhere. Loads of foreign students go to UoB for a year, so you can just say you met them in Birmingham and they've now gone back home if you are really desperate to have a back story. I'm still facebook friends with loads of foreign girls i met in Birmingham - most of whom I now use as a free hotel service if I fancy a cheap holiday!
