I know there must be some people out there who are just as passionate about metal as they are about pick-up.

So, a few questions to you guys:

- do you ever sarge while at metal gigs? or maybe some of you only sarge at metal gigs?

- do you ever sarge in typical metal apparel?

I like rock/metal clubs - though just walking up to people and chatting about shit and dancing isn't default, partnering up while bouncing and/or headbanging to the band on stage, getting together and becoming a two-man mosh-pit, or just knocking beer bottles together is more common, in my experience.
(Related comic: http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=366 :) )
Definitely a different game.

In my experience, you kinda have to be on level, and a little further with those who you want to attract - It's harder to keep hardcore goth chicks interested if you are blonde and have no piercings and shit. Another problem that may arise is if you can't demonstrate some knowledge about the music and such, since you are likely to get asked what you listen to (common practice in such circles to find common ground early)
It's also harder to find single girls, and girl-only groups are really rare.

As for the outfit, I only dress metal if the place and the "target audience" fits. What I really like and want to get is stuff from Alchemy Gothic ( http://www.8ball.co.uk/alchemygothic.b.html ) and similiar brands. No-band, badass designs, kinda flashy without being gay with glitter and shit, like most peacock t-shirts I see (yuck).

I've sarged at metal gigs before. Never gotten a full close but had a lot of foreplay with this one chick before a gig. They're notoriously easy to get laid at although I've never closed at the ~10 I've been too.

I go a lot to metal events to. But its hard to get in their social circle. Most of the time they are at venue with BF.
So I don't call it sarging, but just being social. Its nice to talk about common interests.
Although I had once a day two. But that was at a big gig (Rammstein concert). At big gigs its more common to find single girls. We talked and had a meet up later on. She was pretty enthousiastic on phone and msn. But at meet up, she was very cold. Later I found out that she ran into an old male friend and ended up together.

I go to my local rock/metal club every friday night, Ive pulled more girls there than any other place in town.

It may be very against the culture, but I find that having short hair is a good thing if youre a metalhead, because it makes you stand out amongst all the guys with unkempt hair down to their arse. Facial hair, piercings and tattoos are probably good too but I have none of these as yet.
I dress metal wherever I go as you probs always stand out, but I'd say try to look intelligent about it. Wear a tshirt of a band that maybe isnt so common in the metal world (instead of Iron Maiden or Metallica, perhaps try Exodus or Anthrax, if you like the bands of course). Make sure of course that you have something to say about the band whose tshirt you are wearing, that way if anyone comments then you have planty of material to start a conversation with.

Good luck fellow MHPUA's! \M/

I think you just created a brand new, awesome PUA acronym. Loving it \m/

Also, you seem like the only person in this topic - besides me - who is an actual metalhead.

When I dress metal I wear T-shirts of bands like Bolt Thrower or Respawn (although I own some Iron Maiden and Metallica shirts as well ;) ) and I've been called a 'walking metal encyclopedia' by some of my friends, so no worries about not having stuff to talk about when it comes to metal music... ;) I dress a bit different than usual if I go out with the intention to sarge (for example, I'd replace my ramones leather jacket with a suit jacket), but usually I'll have a metal T-shirt underneath all that nonetheless. And I actually have long hair, facial hair similar to that of Hypnotica on and a Motorhead tattoo, but I doubt it does anything to my game. It's all just emanations of my personality. You know, the self is always coming through...

And to answer my own questions: usually I go to metal gigs for the music only, but once I did sarge a bit - built some social proof and managed to get a teen blonde to follow me around like a puppy. But later on her boyfriend appeared and it was game over, hah. And yeah, as mentioned above, when going out to sarge I'll usually go for a slightly different look.

New advise for MHPUAs! Somewhat similar to my last post in here but anyway.

Definately wear something to stand out and look different from everyone else in the environment you happen to be in. I pulled a metalhead/goth girl the other night when I was wearing a Formula 1 tshirt rather than anything music related, made me stand out a bit and didn't seem to put her off in the slightest :P hehe

Have fun!

Maybe it's just my taste, but aren't metalhead-chicks all complete uglies? Also pretty easy at that. That's a few years experience at Download festival talking..

So glad i found this thread. Don't care if it's dead. I'm reviving it from the grave!!! \m/

And not ALL metal chicks are ugly... Just a lot of them are, haha. At least in my experience, that's what I've found. There are some really attractive metalhead/rocker chicks though, you just have to look a bit harder for them. As metalheads, we are already a minority. Add the fact that we're aspiring PUAs, and you have an even greater minority...

MHPUAs need to stick together. Hails!!! \m/

I tend find metal girls vulgar and unattractive. They tend to be very manly and be rather childish.

Astaire, Scott Walker, nice!.

Fucking brilliant to see a Walker fan.

You know what's funny... Me and my drummer are both in a thrash-metal band and are both into game lol!

I know he definitely prefers metal girls, usually his are quite average with hotties thrown here and there. I don't mind any sort of girl; I don't really look like it when I'm out on town. but cute metal-girls are like my fave though :P I find with them that the ugly ones are even uglier, but the hot ones are even hotter. True story :P

I've only slept with 2 girls who I would consider metalheads (though they don't look or dress like it though... shame :(). Like I said, one wasn't hot but the other was damn hot, would probs give her a 8/9.

Either way, it's better to expand your tastes in women. More choice brah :)

There were a few good looking women at the Megadeth concert I attended back at the beginning of the month. But by far, the ugly outweighed the good!

That's to be expected though, most good looking chicks just aren't into metal. I remember one time at a party, I had isolated a girl away from her little group of friends she was with. As we got to know each other a little bit she asked me about the Megadeth shirt I was wearing. It had the band's mascot Vic Rattlehead on the front, really colorful t-shirt. She flat out said "that has to be a band that screams non stop and makes you want to bash your head into a wall!" That honestly had me cracking up. Which in turn made me forget any witty comeback I was gonna be able to come up with lol.

I did blow her mind later in the night when I had the DJ put on some August Burns Red and I told her that they were a christan metal band

I smiled at this whole post, but I think this is the takeway. ^^^

It does make us more unique though. You guys have to remember that. Metalheads should prepare for one of two things. Either #1: More shit-tests based on our dress style and musical tastes, or #2: being much less likely to be approached or receive pre-approach IOIs. The latter isn't as common as it sounds though. You have to remember that girls arent as shallow as we are.

I would be the optimist here and realize that we have a chance to be more spontaneous and random, at least compared to all these hip hop guys that make up the majority of both the sexes.

I've been into metal and punk since I was a kid; still hang out at metal clubs from time to time, and have to say there are positive and negative sides to it. On the positive side, the competition is not very hard. Most metal guys are nice guys who'd rather talk about lord of the rings that approaching strange women, in my experience. On the negative side, there aren't that many hot women.
