I'd disagree. Sure all the pick-up cliche's apply, (be cool, ect) but being that you're in your late 20s, you're in a different position in life - you can offer her maturity, most dudes at her school don't have the money you have or their own place.
There's also disadvantages such as you being a "stranger" when you guys first meet unlike the frat boys on campus. You can make this work for you but just be aware that this dynamic exists.
You'll be lunching with lots of people, I'm going on a limb but it sounds like you're fixated on going for the young chicks, why not show some love for the girls around your age too !
We are doing cold approach pickup here. This shouldn't be much of an issue.
