First of all, you didn't fluff talk at all, went straight to business, without giving her a reason to want to meet with you... make a reference to some cool, crazy party you are going to, or this amazing sushi place you recently discovered, whatever you think may be interesting for her... second, you were being a bit insecure about her wanting to meet up, your frame of communication should always be that girls want to meet you... third, you were too accommodating with her schedule and all...
She wasn't totally against meeting you... she gave you the thesis excuse, to which you could have replied "Let me know when you have passed your exam and we'll celebrate... I know this great club, bla, bla, bla..." and kept going about a neutral topic, establishing her interest in you...
You simply gave up... next time ignore the excuse, don't discuss the boyfriend (there's a small chance he's not even real) and plow ahead with the convo... keep it interesting and flirty...

You asked in a very beta way (asked her schedule, qualified your request with the "if you're not completely against the idea" etc..) but that is not the real problem here. The real problem is that you asked out a girl who brought up a boyfriend who seems to have already rejected you. I've said it many times, despite the shit people spew here, GAMING GIRLS WHO SAY THEY HAVE A BOYFRIEND IS A BIG FUCKING WASTE OF TIME. Yes you can succeed, just like you can win the lottery, but the odds are low. She is not interested, move on.

Yeah, I know it was not easy since the beginning, I just wanted to give it the best shot anyway.

The "beta way of asking" was a kind of psychological thing as if you phrase it that way the first reaction is "I'm not *completely against* the idea"

My reply wanted to convey an image of "adventurer asshole" (I *usually* try) that might have aroused curiosity and she might have (possibly) had an interest in meeting (or keep engaging).
At that point I couldn't see many other was to change the situation without chasing when "she's gonna be busy anyway in the next weeks".
I guess that the "lemme know when you're done with your exam" might have given more chances or at least kept the door ajar.

Honestly, you are asking us for strategy on how to beat LeBron James in basketball. The real issue here is gaming a woman who clearly expressed no interest who you have no chance with. All these little details are missing the big picture.

True, but my point was how to "maximize the chances", not "how to get this girl", meaning that bringing the chances from 0.01 -like I did- to 1% would have already been great.
