Guys, I'm new to pof but have successfully been using the Bravo opener "Are you one of those girls who takes FOREVER to do their hair and make up or does it just look that way?!" to get a response from average 4 out of 5 HB7+ that I message.

They usually answer in a few words like "30mins if I'm going out" so I generally respond with another Bravo question

SERIOUS question, you're taking me out, but you have just got in from work and I'm starving, how long until we're out the door??
A) 60mins and you look fit and I can't keep my hands off you
B) 30mins and you look cute
C) 2 hours and I die from starvation

I then get a response like "b but with the same result as a" or something boring like "c".

Following some stuff I've read on here I then say something like "beauty is common so I want to get to know you as a person, tell me 3 interesting things about you not on your profile" to try and get them to sell them self to me, or ask them about something they have mentioned on their profile and then try and dhv with my own story of travel.

However this is where the problems start and I don't get an answer in most cases, or if they do respond it is something really boring that doesn't give me a lot to work with. What am I doing so majorly wrong?!

I find bravo's profile stuff is ok (not amazing, but ok) but these opener games are crap in my opinion. You got a response, just find out her schedule and ask her out. That is a more effective way than continuing to play stupid games. Or if you want to talk more before you just ask her what she's up to and then when she responds suggest meeting up, talk about something in her profile, not this cocky bullshit. Unlike in real life, you don't have attractive body language/etc. to go along with the I'm hot shit attitude the bravo stuff presents over online, which makes it a turn off whereas it could be effective in real life.

Thanks for the response. So are you suggesting just being direct and more natural conversation before asking to meet?

I've had the most success once I get them to respond to quickly go for a meeting using natural conversation without much gaming. Every situation is different, but on average, I have found that works the best. Basically, when a woman responds to you, she is probably interested (unless you use a stupid trick opener like: You should remove that photo) so there isn't a reason to keep gaming her hard over e-mail, save the game for real life.
