If she flinches, she's uncomfortable. If not, work on! Trick is, you have to be in her space to a degree. You can't reach around a crowd. That's awkward.

You're gauging how far you can go. You really want to know if she's comfortable to be near you.

Here's an idea. You have any women friends? Try this without telling them. Not to pick the. Up but gauge their reaction. Once you see what you're capable of and that it ain't that hard, you'll have way more confidence.
