I enjoy taking pictures and just recently become a member of my school's newspaper photography team. I figure why not since I love taking pictures (mostly abstract, scenery/nature, cars ---> hoping to get better at people pictures). It would also mean I could potentially meet alot of new people.

I'm usually not very social unless I become familiar with the person after some time. Any ideas on what I should be doing while taking pictures?

I can't just go up to a HB10 and say "i'm a photographer for ASU... let me take a picture of you".

I'm pretty new at PU so please bare with me. I'm trying very hard.

ok heres what i would do .. not saying its right but (for a group)

"hey im just on the way back to the newspaper, so cant stay long but you guys would be perfect for an article were doing...so rite quick *do whatever* and ill get a shot"

also good chance to have some fun teasing etc your target...after that you can go anywhere.....

If you're working for the paper, a great opener would be to get their opinion on an article being ran in it. They'll put 2 and 2 together and ask if you're the photographer, and then simply game as usual.
