Ok so here is the story basically I dated this girl two years ago for about 4 months. In all honesty i ended up getting oneitis and ended up being a major bitch so we broke up. After that things changed, I started going out with women more on a weekly basis and even tried other relationships. Every so often I would see this girl considering that we have mutual friends and go to the same school. I had seen her a bunch of times and was completely convinced I was over her, even when she texted me or called me to hang out I would say I couldn't because I genuinely didn't feel like it. Eventually I did agree to hang out with her just as friends months ago while we were on school vacation. We went to go get some drinks but nothing happened as I intended.

Now this year we happen to have pretty much every class together while being in class with her my view of her as a friend did not change until this past weekend even though she would always be very cuddly with me. I would even get a text every so often just saying hi, to which I would usually reply but get tired of doing so and stop texting her back. On Friday I went to class only to find out that the whole day of class was canceled and I happened to see her there. Seeing as there was nothing to do I told her to get some drinks and she said yes immediately. So we went to get some drinks, some more friends showed up and we kept drinking. During the whole day I started to flirt with her and say many sexual things that she didn't seem to mind at all rather seemed to like it. Towards the end of the day we were in my friend’s car with me and my friend sitting in the front (I was in the passenger seat) and her and her friend sitting in the back seat (she was in the seat behind me). We were play fighting and biting and even whispering sexual comments to each other. When I tried going in for the kiss her bitchy friend ended up pulling her away and I didn't end up finishing with a kiss close.

As I was really busy during the weekend I didn't end up texting her or calling her at all. However that Friday really got me thinking and missing her to the point where I want to be more than just friends with her but not to the point where I want her o be my official girlfriend again. However come Tuesday I see her in class again and she is completely different with me, being cold and pretty much ignoring me. I decided not to pay to much attention to it and leave her be a to go hang out with my friends. I end up finding out that the guy she was dating had ended things with her, she was really depressed about it and to be honest I am confused as to why.

Like I said I want to have this girl as more than just friends but totally did not expect her to be so affected by this guy ending it with her. How should I go about this to the point where she forgets about the other guy. Since she started being so cold with I pretty much have acted as if nothing happened trying also not to give her too much importance.

So guys please help. How should I go about handling this and how should I act around her?

You know you're completely right and I pretty much realized this right after I even posted this question. Well to let you know I ended up hooking up with her again. Right when I started kissing her she told me "I don't want to hurt you" which actually made me chuckle and to which I replied "don't worry its not going to happen".
