I've been with my gf for about 3 months now. Things are mostly good but I wanted to get some insight into how to handle shit tests after exclusivity. Most of the things I see about shit tests are during the attraction phase but what about in the relationship phase? What are some common ones to look out for and is there ever a point where it's no longer beneficial to remain unreactive and actually call her out on her shit?
For instance, my gf recently has been mentioning one of my friends a lot randomly. She won't say anything of substance but she'll just mention his name all of a sudden. A couple of days ago after we had sex she said something like "I think *friend* is still waiting for you at home (Earlier in the day the three of us were joking about me taking him out on a date). Not sure if this is a shit test or not because my friend does try to harmlessly flirt with her whenever she's here and she kinda plays along. I'm not really scared of anything happening between them because I don't think either of them are that fucked up and it'd be a good filter for who I allow in my life but it is annoying. She also mentions this one professor she has quite often who seemingly flirts with her and offered to buy her lunch to discuss something in the class. This one I'm pretty sure is a shit test because she actually jokes about him being cute and stuff.
For my friend, because it just started happening recently I just kind of chuckle or ignore it. For the professor, I either do the same or I say something like "If you really like him you should just pursue him" in a joking manner. Thing is, it's getting irritating, especially when she mentioned my friend after we just had sex. I was thinking of saying something similar about how I could hook her up with my friend if she wanted the next time she mentions him or should I just be more serious and tell her it's annoying and I don't like playing games?
Thanks for any help.
