Hey guys. There's a breakfast place that opened up about 4 weeks ago near my workplace. Where I occasionally grab a bacon and egg from.
The cashier girl is pretty I would personally say hb8.
I dont get to talk to her much because its fairly busy so usually hi smile grab food and go.
Last week however it was killing me so I asked her name she seemed really uncomfortable but gave it to me instantly. I Said thanks and left awkwardly.
This morning she said she never got my name and asked it.
We shook hands asked bout eachothers day for 2 mins and left.

Its really awkward mainly because her workmates are always there and people waiting in line.

WWouldlike to get her number.. whats the best approach?

write her a little note

Can i have your # y or n / or my # is ---------

and slip it to her.

I wouldn't do the note. You've already talked. There is the chance she thinks it's "cute" or whatever if you get the note, and maybe she likes the shy type guy, but I would just outright ask. Reason being A) the note has NEVER worked for me B) it is slightly AFC C) she already gave you an IOI by asking your name, so why beat around the bush? and D) put her ass on the spot and make her give you a verbal answer.

She will give it to you.

One thing I'll say... plan a date before you get the number. Ask her what she's doing this weekend... or, this week... whatever. Don't be too available (i.e., if she says "I'm free at 7 on Thursday" say "OK, I have ____ til 7 so let's do 7:30" etc.

If she doesn't give you her number then GFTOW and forget all about her.

you could do this..if there is some candy that you could buy there,or something little like that..ask her what she would recomend you.then you buy 2 of that,and give one to her..with a note where is your #.with some good body language,and a cool,relax wink,you'll get the call..or sms

I've been in so many situations like this. Especially when i first started.

Here's what you need to do:

Find a time to go into the store when it has a high probability to be slow and she is working.

Then your good to go.

If the store is always busy and she never has any down time, i would just right a simple note with your number on it. "This is for you...(Slight smile)." and give her the note with your number. On the note include a little humor and your number...with..."Text me."

It sounds like she already has interest in you so now its just a matter of logistics..

I ended up going with the note, asking for her number - and bummer.. didn't go so well .

The moment I walked in, even before getting to the counter she smiled and said "hey!" from across the shop.
Her co-workers are looking and smiling.

This added to the fuel, although i already had my mind set to do it from the get go.

Anyway she wasn't on the cash register - but she passed me my breakfast, and as i grabbed the sandwich, I slipped the note over to her.. FAIL she thought it was something else and said oh thanks and smiled.
Then she realized what it was and "oh.. im so sorry.. i dont give away my number.. so sorry"
I'm not too sure if I cut her off here.. but as i heard them words I kept my head up, smiled and said "no no, it's OK! Thanks"

I was so lost i was almost certain she would give it! My reading is terrible lol.
Maybe i should have built more rapport before going for it. but then it's so hard with the place being always so busy.

Is there a possible recovery from this? what should my next move be?

Yeah,

Basically there was not enough comfort between you too. At times you will have girls who will just be into you without even building even a little comfort.

In most cases though, if the girl is hot and has options, you will need to build some comfort.

So don't take this as the girl doesn't like you. Take it as a learning experience, and try to find opportunities to build more comfort with her. I've had many situations like this so i understand where you are coming from.

I've also used the note thing myself, it work in a lot of cases but in some cases there was just not enough comfort.
