Any suggestions as to how to number close, i always try to find an excuse but I dont feel that it comes from an Alpha position. More Beta than anything.

Man, number closing is one of the easiest things to do. Unfortunately that also means that number closing means nothing. She giving you her number doesn't mean she's into you. (doesn't mean she's not either, of course).
Don't look for any excuse or "pick up line to get numbers" or stuff like that. Just go direct and simple. Something like "hey, why don't you give me your number so we can continue this conversation later" (if you're leaving). Sometimes you can even just hand them your phone and say "put your number there".

Unfortunately there's no magic trick to get a number close easily. There's no such thing as "as long I say these lines, she'll give me her number".

Before you can number close effectively, you'll need to learn how open strongly, reach hook point and build attraction. After gaining some experience, you'll begin to develop an intuition whether she's into you or not in the interaction (something we call social calibration); and once you sense that you can easily do a number close easily by saying "Hey we should definitely hang out some time, can I have your contact info?"
