I often -actually most of the times- hug girls at the end of the very first conversation.

It's not something I'm doing as a "PUA move" but more like a natural thing for me: both when I see and when I'm saying goodbye to my close friends I hug them most of the times.

However sometimes women are not expecting it and for some of them I can feel it's a bit "forced" and only go for it because I've already spread my arms and taken a step forward.

Do you think it could come across as "too much" and make me look as a bit of a weirdo (people don't hug strangers and acquaintances in the street) ?

I tend to do it often if i like the girl and I feel like she won;t mind but i tend to ask first. Like just before they leave I will say - give me a hug or can I have a hug. They hardly ever refuse coz they feel it is innocent enough and also because females love cuddles. The mistake I make is I sometimes ask for a second one and thats when they get confused and say "I already gave you a hug".

I think it asissts in making them feel comftable round you.

Don't spread your arms. It comes out as creepy and needy. To avoid a "friendly hug" and being friendzoned, you should start with one arm on her lower back first, and brush your hand across. It's not quite a hug, but it's a non-threatening tease. Anything thing you wouldn't do to a male friend that's not what bf/gfs do is fine with escalation. I might even go for a kiss on the cheek because it is "gentleman-like."

By you hugging her she might feel that you have invested more in the relationship than her, especially if she doesn't want or like it. I prefer to use styles kiss goodbye close instead. Simply point to your cheek and say "kiss goodbye", avoid eye contact while doing it as this it will look like your waiting for a rejection. Do this if you feel you've got chemistry with the girl and she reacted well to your previous touching and she wont say no.

Hugging is fine, kissing on the cheek followed by eye contact is better.

Agreed. There is nothing wrong with a hug good bye especially if you had a quick lunch, coffee first meeting. The kiss on the cheek is preferable, but if you aren't comfortable with that just make sure that you are comfortable with the hug.

I normally phrase it as, alright I gotta go but get over here, *give a quick hug* don't think about me too much *laughing*.

It doesn't matter that much ... I dated a girl who our first date ended with a hand shake! (her idea, she just did it)> I assumed she wasn't into me, but, oh, she was ;)
