i have moderate success at bars/clubs. however, id ssay 1/4 girls i approach shut me down immediately.

examples,
1) hold out hand for handshake. wont shake
2) girls on dance floor doing the "no signal"
3) immediately engaging others in her group and turnign back. its hard to open a whole group at once in a super loud club. so this kinda shuts me down with the whole group if the first girl does that lol

thoughts on why this occurs?

Looks like you need to pick a better venue. If you cannot communicate at least halfway effectively where you are, it renders everything useless. You need to be in a more social type of setting rather than dance club (since discovering PUA I stopped going to 'dance' clubs, because they're only a tease).

Dance game is a different animal also, you need to be dancing, be confident and just take charge. And since the music is so loud, you'll probably only get a dance unless you can pull her away. I wouldn't recommend it.

Make sure you are loud when opening the group, like an explosion, so it is awkward if they ignore you, then pay attention to the ones that give you attention (you can always turn back to a target once you are in with their friend).

Talk louder, you will notice a difference. Stay away from the places where the music is loud. Have better posture, and remember to look over your shoulder when you open sets. You will get a higher percentage.

Yeh, always go in from the side. If you walk straight up head on, it shows your seeking rapport. Whoever is seeking rapport has the lower value. Also I agree with the comment about high energy, you need to go in at the same or a higher energy.

I also don't like the dance approach it can get really messy. If you spot the girl on the dancefloor, hold back until she goes to the bar or outside for some fresh air or something.

Additionally, a thought just popped in my head. If they shut you down straight away, just say 'oh thats a shame I was gonna show you something amazing.' if they say 'whats that then?' you can either do a cool magic trick or something or just shout 'this diiiiick!!!'. ok that one was a joke but it could work, not tried it yet.

The only exception to that is if you go straight in and break rapport from the beginning. An example would be going up to a girl and opening with "Who the HELL are you?" it's not so much what you say, but how you say it.

Don't use mystery method in dance clubs. Mystery calls dance clubs a trap because he failed at understanding the dynamics going on there. Skills360 has an awesome guide on dancefloor game here on the forums and on youtube with videos. I recommend you that.

If you want to stick to mystery method then just avoid dance clubs and go to bars.

I think its because you look like a try hard/boring - try approaching with the set energy just slightly higher.
