I like Mark Macyoungs stuff, his early book is what got me into more reality based martial arts training. I also like Rory Miller's stuff.

Both are awesome when it comes to psychology and awareness and taught me alot. But the unfortunate thing is what i've seen of both of their physical stuff it is lacking.

When it comes to self-defense type stuff the psychological, along with awareness are very important. Aswell as dealing with fear. If you have the best technique but can't deal with the pressure or fear then you are fucked.

Knowing this stuff is important for any man, starting with awareness of not just your environment and others, but also of yourself.

I think I might revisit his old book again, had a situation recently that has caused me an issue that I can learn from.
