I'm just wondering what your strategy is when it comes to getting dates set up with girls through online dating.

My typical plan is to give them my number online, telling them to text me. Once they text me, I chat back and forth a bit before trying to set up a date through text. But is there a benefit to actually calling the girl up, whether it's to actually bring up the date and ask them out, or afterwards before the date just to chat for a bit? Will calling reduce the chance of flaking?

I feel like texting is how women communicate nowadays and if you have your text game down, you're golden. I'd rather just text right up to the date, but I'll start working on my phone game if you think it's worth it. Let me know, thanks.

Personally, I think it all comes down to your own style as there are benefits to both.

Texting keeps it nice and casual, and allows to girl to respond at her own pace. Conversely, calling allows you to better frame yourself and will likely solicit a far more positive emotional response.

I stick to texting simply because (in my experience) some women have a tendency to ignore calls from someone they haven't met irl.

I usually text or do it through the site. More importantly, be quick and efficient, do not shoot the shit too much via text or e-mail. Focus on logistics.
