A lot depends on the girl and how much comfort you have already built with her. If you have not built much comfort with her, then a good approach is to start with texting and transition into phone calls.

I agree with the OP in the sense that phone call over text is much more powerful. Not only does it allow you to build attraction much quicker than text but it will usually set you apart from other guys who are just texting her.

I agree with you. Calling is better than texting. When I use my voice, women know when I'm joking, but with texting, it can sometimes look weird or not funny at all. The only reason to text is if you already know the girl so you can make fast appointments (=short messages).
