I think of this when I get Approach Anxiety.

Michael Jordan said:
"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I cant accept not trying."

I think of that and I take a deep breath and go for it. If thats how Michael Jordan thought and he became that succesfull by thinking that way, then I should think that way too. And so should you.

Absolutely.
Ultimately, the only true failure is the failure to try. Everything else is called learning.

Keep learning, don't give up. You will have success if you keep on learning and improving your skills.

i honestly don't know how religious any of you are... but the serenity prayer works pretty well... and hey, if you're not religious it can still apply to you:

"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."

It is my own experience that the feeling of not even trying is way, WAY more awful then the feeling of a rejection. Besides rejection shouldn't even affect you - because there is always a lesson to learn. Also most girls aren't mean when they reject people. Most of them say that they have to go and are quite polite. This can't exactly be described as painful. All in all you can say that when it comes to approaching women then there is nothing to loose - but everything to gain.

Another thing... rejection isn't failure. If you learn something from it then its a success.

Its better to regret something you did do, than something you didn't.

One of my favourite quotes, useful for all kinds of scary situations:

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Wow, that's a really good quote. I'm going to make that my mantra from now on until I can beat AA for good :shock:

Hi,

The actual quote is:
"¡Prefiero morir de pie que vivir siempre arrodillado!"

Translating to English is something like you said:
"It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!"

It's from Emiliano Zapata Salazar, a leading figure in the Mexican Revolution of 1910.

It is a great quote and it demonstrates the exact feeling one should get when they are faced with AA.

What I try to do is remember some movie that has a hero and a comic relief character.

For example:
In "The Mummy" would you want to be Brandon Fraser (the hero) or John Hannah (the comic relief) ?

Sure John's character might live longer, but would you prefer to live 1 year of freedom or 10 years inside a plastic bubble?

I got my answer, only need to apply it to my game.

I always think of what style wrote about arnold Schwarzenegger, that one must feel pain in order to gain pleasure. Any skill that may pertain some value requires practice... painful practice.
