I personally don't believe in winks and/or icebreakers unless you can use one that is very cocky.
I've been in this forum for just a few days, but I've seen alot of helpful stuff. Read through things on here.
How educated are you in pick up? That is the key. Educate yourself.
I recommend reading the book, "The Game", then "The Mystery Method" or if you wanna be loyal to Mystery get his verison of his own Method, "The Venusian Arts Handbook".

An example for you:
As a younger boxer, I had several assistant trainers/coaches at my gym. I did not stick with just one coach, I learned a piece of all of them and became succesful at the sport.
I believe the same is true in pick up. There are a lot of people out there that love to help. Some for free, some for $$$.
Pick-up is a big business for alot of big guns, like Mystery & Neil Strauss (aka Style), then there are alot of wanna be's out there. Choose wisely whom you learn from, but just remember the most important thing in the world. Use your "Common Sense"
