I kind of suck at messaging a girl online, so hoping for some tips on what exactly I did wrong. Basically tried to personalize by mentioning something from her profile, and one of the things she listed as being Good At was analyzing.

Message to Girl:

How's it going?

Thought you seemed cool, but what's with being good at analyzing? Analyzing what? Migration patterns of marine life? Terrible messages you receive on OKC?

So I hate my reply to her, I just couldn't think of anything better since it seemed like she was saying my message was terrible. I realize that's overanalyzing, but I was actually kind of shooting for her to say something like she didn't mean my message was terrible, then I'd reply "Oh my mistake, I'm as good at overanalyzing as you are at analyzing! "

But never got any reply... but frankly I'm not sure I wasn't doomed from the very beginning. She never even checked out my profile...

I've found that funny gets by FAR The most responses online. Go with funny and something that shows you read her profile. (So a joke about something in her profile). On okc I also like opening with:

"Hey very selective responder" (or whatever they are). It works pretty well. Another tip is to play with the % friend, % enemy etc. If she has high % enemy, a good one is

Hey, how is it we are only 50% enemy, we should try to get this number to 75% at least.

When a girl responds to you with "yes" that's already an IOD. Not sure why she even bothered to respond. And yes, your response was terrible.

Ideas for a better response? Was thinking this morning that I should have called her out for being mean and told her she needed to buy me a drink to make up for it...

Eh, by the Yes it's pretty much over. I would ask a question in the response so at least she has an easy way to respond to you.
