For those of you who have seen The Tao of Steve ( imdb title: tt0234853 ):

I would say that most of the stuff in the movie is correct, but there are definitely some differences from the seduction literature that you and I are familiar with. "Steve" would behave as if desireless, but he would also say not to ever "make a move" (which seems to be defined pretty generally as any act of intamcy - like touching - toward a girl). Isn't "kino" an important part of seduction? Isn't the Tao of Steve somewhat misleading? What do you guys think?

Like with most things, the best way may lay somewehere in between.
Showing no interest often turns on girls, in a way that they really want to make you interested in them. They're like: "Wow, why doesn't this guy tries to hit on me, like all those other guys?".
BUT, obviously, this alone won't work. Because they can associate you with nerdy guys who are to shy, or disinterested because the girl seems to be way out of his league.

Furthermore 'using the Tao of Steve' will work, to create some interest. But keep in mind, that at some point you have to show some interest in the girl. That's crucial.

And as an answer to your question, trying to seduce a woman without 'kino' is just stupid. I mean, bear in mind what your goal exactly is, then think about achieving it without 'kino', makes little sense, eh.

But yeah, I really liked the movie. And there are a lot of truths in there.
Quote:
The Tao itself the distilled philosophy that Dex employs, very winningly, to succeed sexually with women. It consists of three rules:

Eliminate your desires.
Do something excellent in her presence, thereby proving your sexual worthiness.
Retreat, for as Heidegger said, "We pursue that which retreats from us".
Or, as Dave later recaps it:

Be desireless
Be excellent
Be gone
