Even though i consider myself new i have been studying for a while. I have seen much progress especially in my levels of cockiness and confidence.

Some people get the 2 mixed up, usually tending to display cockiness in place of confidence, and thus blowing themselves outta a set or target.

Lets examine exactly what the 2 C's are and how to use them. Its easy with our mystical PUA powers to feel like a god among ants.

Confidence (Self-confidence) is a beleif in ones self and your abilities and capability. However, as said in wikipedia, "...One who is self-confident is not necessarily loud, brash, or reckless..."

Cocky means - Overly self-assertive or self-confident or brashly self-confident. This is an over the top, even a unrelistic veiw on reality as it pertains to yourself.


So now that we can examine what each one means, lets talk about how it effects our game, because each has its place.

Cockiness is acceptable in small doses, and often times done right will result in a humorus environment in which you are able to show your confidence in a way that is playfully bragging, but at the same time not overbearing.

Over do it and people will get sick of you like sweet candies in abundance.

Confidence is something that is much more subtle, and people feed off of and crave. You exude this like you do a scent or a vibe. You dont need to wave it like a banner in thier face because they will feel it and want to be engolfed by it.

A huge problem i have noticed is mistaking being cocky for being confident, and then i become over bearing and people resent that even though on the surface they may go along with it. Being overly cocky is like an avalanche or the snowball theory...once it starts it just gets worse and worse til it out does even yourself.

So remember when you are out to use cockiness to your advantage, especially in the form of C&F material/behavior...but know when to switch it on, and know when to replace it with good old fashioned confidence so you dont come accross as a dick or a jerk.

i totally agree with this. Ive started to realize that ive becoming to cocky. Its fine for the attraction phase but when it comes to comfort building you got to turn of most of the cockiness.
