A little background information on me... I learned PUA last year when I was a senior in high school. Last summer, all I did was open, close, and date. After being somewhat complacent with my skill, I entered my first LTR. 5 months later, she cheated on me, and it took me 4 months to get over that episode of one-itis.

Last week, I was working on getting over my AA again by just going up to random girls and using indirect openers. I had no intention of closing (yet) because I was trying to get back into the swing of things. Yesterday, I went to my favorite arcade to play DDR with some friends and saw a HB 7 and decided to go in for a close.

This HB 7 was wandering around the arcade, alone, for a good 30 minutes before I approached her. It took me 30 minutes to approach because I was in the middle of my DDR game. At first, I was hesitant to approach because I'm sweaty and smelly, but went for it anyway.

She walked over to the change machine and that's when I opened. The way I approached was looking down at my phone and standing a few feet away from her right side. I looked up and did a double take and said my opener.

Me- Excuse me, my friends and I have been arguing over something and we need a female opinion on something really quick. It'll only take a sec, we were about to go and eat. (Only my head is turned to her, my body is still facing forward. I'd like to think that body language is my strong point.)

HB 7- Uh... alright.

Me- Who lies more... men or women?

HB 7- Ummm.... I'd have to say men. (She turns her body to me. Now I know I have her attention)

Me- What!? (When I go out and sarge, I usually act really flamboyant. It's been a natural thing for me.) I say women lie more! Why do you think men do? (At this point, I finally turn my body towards her.)

HB 7- blah blah blah

We discuss a bit, I give her high fives whenever she says something I agree with so I could start kino escalating then I transition.

Me- Anyway, I haven't seen you around before... what school do you go to?

HB7- (says the same high school I graduated from)

Me- Whoa whoa whoa... hold up. Did you say ____?

HB7- Yeah... (She looks like she just said something wrong)

Me- You get a high five for that! I graduated from there last year in the top of my class.

HB7- Haha no way!

We start talking about the school and I learn that she plays piano. I DHV by telling stories about how I played piano and sang for the orchestra (which she's a big part of). After this conversation, I decided that it was time for me to go so I transition to the number close.

Me- Anyway, I don't wanna hold up my friends. They're pretty hungry. I enjoyed talking to you though... let's exchange numbers so I can tell you when I'm visiting the school again.

HB7- Yeah sure!

Me- I'm putting "King" as my last name on your phone. (Inside joke from the piano conversation)

HB 7- Haha, alright King.

Me- (I shake her hand and hold it for awhile) It was nice meeting you. (I started backing up slowly)

HB7- (Slightly raises her arms up signaling a hug but puts it down after realizing I was backing away.)

Me- (I raised my eyebrow and gave her a cocky look) I'd give you a hug, but I'm a little sweaty from DDR.

HB7- Oh, ok... I understand. Sorry...

Me- Don't worry... next time.

HB7- Alright!

I walked away after seeing her smile.
