I'm just asking this to see if I should place much weight in the fact that a girl im into never texts first. We've had a long friendship and we've been having some benefits sporadically here and there. I haven't f-closed her but we've made out a few times.

Yeah they do. But in my experience they get in to a habit, so if they expect you to text them first (because that's what you always do) then they won't text you first. There are ways around it though, leave looong gaps between messages, before you go to sleep tell them to text you tomorrow etc
